- Coincidental Occurrence: Lastly, sales and social media mentions might happen to move together, but for completely unrelated reasons. E.g. sales might have dropped due to poor after-sales service, and social media mentions might have dropped due to a lower Marketing budget.
Without accurate and complete context, even the most sophisticated algorithms can only point to a correlation. At best, Gen-AI can hallucinate a cause behind the correlation based on the generic data it has been trained on.
